Disgusted
I have never seen such a self-centred person. A teacher at that. I wonder what becomes of our future generation. Was having a reunion dinner at the restaurant. Came to the last dish, a ginko + huai shan dessert. Our table had 7 people, so there were 3 extra bowls. The waitress asked for feedback for the food, and when my mother asked if the dessert tasted good, the waitress replied she had not tried it before, but it was rather famous.
Seeing that we all had our share, mother thought of giving one extra bowl to the waitress to try. She was very grateful. But who knows, the "teacher" at the table immediately rotated lazy Susan towards him. Thinking that he might want another bowl of dessert, we reassured the waitress that one person cannot finish 4 bowls of dessert and it was ok to take one bowl. Almost immediately, he wrangled each bowl to his direct line of sight, staring at the bowls intently as if his life depended on them. His next step? Scoop all the ginko nuts out for himself, just in case anyone takes anything from him.
(Nevermind about his "cannot lose" attitude when eating the other dishes earlier. Each time someone takes something, if he takes a fancy to that dish, you would see him eyeing the person food precariously). His dessert antic was totally unbecoming.
One person, 4 bowls of dessert. 3 bowls half eaten. The mentality?
"NO ONE takes the ginko nuts away from me!"
I see only poor upbringing, selfish attitude, childish demeanour. Moulding the nation ya? MOE should perhaps consider more stringent personality assessment so that they won't simply recruit any dubious characters into our prestigious education system.
Talk about selfless educators...Here's Scrooge in the making.

Afterword: I should have been more witty, and say that I want another bowl of dessert. Take it, and pass it to the waitress.
