Poem from a Chinese Tabloid Newspaper- 你对我错

手把青秧插满田
低头便见水中天
The farmer sees the reflection of the sky as he sows his seeds.

心地清洁方为道
The clarity of the reflected sky likened to a mirror.

退步原来是向前
The farmer moves behind each row and continues to sow his seeds, till the whole field is complete.

Meaning:

The farmer sees the reflection of the sky, but he forgets that his own reflection is also cast against the backdrop of the sky.

Many times, we critique others but lie oblivious to our own shortcomings. Thinking through, we do not gain anything from that. Instead, being reflective of ourselves allows us to look at things with a greater perspective. Where times call for a compromise, it might sometimes be for the betterment of the bigger picture.

This is an important lesson for me.
