The last few days before the interns were transferred, we made the best out of our lunch at boon tong kee...haha...Basically, it sells chicken rice and some chinese dishes...haha...
Not too bad, the ambience, food also not too bad...Price, ok la, 7 plus per person for 11 people i think. Too bad i forgot to take e food, as i was too hungry!
Basically, we had: 1 chicken + 11 rice, 2 vegetables, 1 fried toufu, 2 jugs of drinks. Dishes start at $6 for small plate, so do drinks (If i din remember
wrongly).
Boon tong kee is located next to Boon Keng MRT station, (the new NE line). No puns intended.

See Mr. Yi'en, the waiter of the year!! The back is how the inside of Boon Tong Kee looks like.
And this was where we sat.
Ambience: 2.5 / 5
Food: 3/5
Price: 3/5
It was 2 weeks and 2 days into my job when i got
FIRED!!! Yes, i got
FIRED!!!! Suddenly, i realised that places were suddenly out of bounds to me and my fellow interns...The next day, the 5 research fellows were "summoned" to our Head's office and we were told that we were to be transferred...
SAD LA... 2 weeks, and i had comfortably settled into my environment, then they had to have this transfer! Wat on earth?!? Purposely want to make fun of interns rite?! Then i realised, . Even the technology people were affected =(
Ok anyway, while waiting to be transferred, our job was to do literature review, until there is room in the big
H to take us in.
Oh..But you know ah, too much of literature review can hurt the brain and send sleepy signals to the eyes...So...we had to be
balanced =D We spent a teeny weeny bit of time playing Scrabble :D
And here's the fruit of our labour! We used up all our tiles!
This game requires very high level of concentration:
Haha...that's lala in the pipcture
Anf our scores:
OMG!!! AT 97, i m the lowest! hahahaha...All thanks to the vowels i received. Can imagine 7 vowels in the rack sitting and plotting against me...
Afterwhich, i made a comeback, with 186!! Whee...But wait! First 2 rounds...not counted, as the game was supposed to end when the first player finishes his tiles, but we played till all our tiles were exhausted.
When we played "officially", Mr Yuan Yuan took down both sessions! Wah...dun siao siao sia...hahahaa
Yea..and that was 1 week hanging in limbo.
Oh yea...and i feel as though i am writing history...hahaha...IA started on 8th Jan 2007. And i am recounting it only now. There are 13 interns whom i know working at the big
H (the company). 8 from NUS, 5 from NTU. 5 NUS students
were posted to the research department, and that includes me!
Introducing the students in the research department:
Mr Yuan Yuan
The best buddies Yi'en and Felix!
Miss Aska
Myself!!
Got another dept about technology. Strange. People really photo shy leh... SO i din manage to get all their faces down:
Haha...only 1. I call her wenfang. (She resembles my friend. Think her actual name is yulin ba)....
More stories of the big H in time to come...
So the Selangor holidays which i went lasted for...2 days 1 nite O.o
After that, there was family chalet...Haha...very fun, fun slacking, cuz it was raining and basically we could only admire the facilities from where we stay...I think the only thing i did was to swim, no cycling, no bla bla...haha...
Oh ya, we bbqed for 2 days! Haha...Here's the evidence:
DAY 1:
To protect her beatiful and (small) eyes from the smoke, my cousin (12 yrs) put on her swimming googles! This is called thinking out of the box! Haha...and a weird one at that..
DAY 2:
No outdoor, cuz it was raining. We could only make do with a make shift bbq pit made out of metal boxes cut into half. We managed to choke the living room with sooty smoke, and made a mess out of the floor. Luckily the rain stopped 1 hour into the make shift bbq, giving us a chance to complete bbq-ing our food in the open :)
Some happy photos..(albeit not a lot)...taken in chalet:
That is my cousin (5 yrs) after his bath...See the funny face...haha...his past time is to twitch his mouth into that distorted fashion. I am currently trying hard to make him kick that habit...
This is Mr. Swimming trunks (similar sounding name) dunno staring at what...Behind him, one can get some (not a lot) idea of how part of the chalet looks like. Basically 2 storeys, 4 rooms.
Some candid shots of the family..taken at the hawker centre on the second day of the chalet stay.
My uncle...haha...he entertain me
This is my "Madam Singapore Universe"...My grandmother...hahaha...she din know i took it for her...
My cousins' (both 5 and 12 yrs) parents.
Yup Yup...and that's about it. More into my IA in time to come :)
To be strong
so that nothing can upset the peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and hope to
every person I meet.
To make my friend feel that there is something
good and beautiful about them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and
to be optimistic about them.
To think only the best.
Work towards doing and expecting the best.
To be just as happy as about the success of others as I am about myself.
To forget any mistake of the past and to press forward
to greater achievement in the future.
To give in so much time in improving myself,
that I have no time to criticize others.
To be strong for fear, too kind for anger,
and too happy for worry.
To lift my heart in faith each day.
