Time of the year~

It's the time of the year, when suddenly, you receive calls from Manulife and the like, asking if you would like to be an insurance agent, or, in a nice way, a financial planner. It hadn't struck me that once again, there is an influx of graduates looking for jobs, and insurance companies seeking their prey. And out of nowhere, you receive emails that tell you "xxx insurance company has viewed your resume online."

Financial planning can't seem to shake of the stigmatism that the public has of it. You either suddenly have more caring friends, or you realize you are suddenly friendless, that is, if you are the agent.

Actually, agents can earn a lot of money. If you are irritating, persuasive and forward planning enough. Plus, more than 70% of Singaporeans do not have adequate insurance (forgot where i read it). If you look at it, the market is there. Just that the Singaporean mentality is not quite ready for it.

On another note, it is indeed important to plan AHEAD. However, many people around me tend to be complacent. I think we are so used to having things planned nicely for us, that we have become lazy to think. Maybe that's why agents are there to bug us. And persist in their irritating attitude. Haha.

Whatever it is, it is never too late to plan. And the process of thinking is kinda interesting.
