B.e.e

I shouldn't be revisiting this, but I feel very DL (dulan) when i think of this again. NUS career advisory for chem engineers are way too complacent. When wat i thought (and many others) was early when my friend signed his contract, NTU chem engineers have already taken up majority of the slots. Which brings me to the question: Did our career not take good care of us? Darn! On one hand, i should have been more worldly -wise and not bank on a good career centre. On the other, i really feel disgusted for their complacency/ lousy foresight. This sucks.
~~~
But that is not what i plan to talk about today.
I have just finished reading about the 81st Spelling Bee competition held in the US. In lieu of the rubbish entertainment shows we have on local television nowadays (and that includes local dramas attempting to be sappy), i suggest more worthwhile programmes such as that.
Introducing...Singpore's very own Spelling Bee...
Muwahahahaha
I picture poor kids (forehead tied with a red headband proclaiming: VICTORY!!), and parents with a cane standing next to them. Certainly, preparation is required. But the problem with Singaporeans is that we tend to overdo things.
Sometimes, more can be less, if you get what i mean. One can never prepare enough for anything. We can gain knowledge from reading widely, but by freewill and not applying "the force". The ability to spell strange sounding words depends on the flair more than technical ability.
Force mugging makes thinking regimental.
It's no wonder some people say, the older you are, the steeper your learning curve.
Just that the "old" is getting younger.
